Dreamless Day

Today is one of those days, where dreaming would be nice, but it ain't going to happen.  Creativity is replaced by "just getting by".  We have four wonderful pets that act like kids.  Rosie, our smallest dog at 30 lbs.is the Alpha dog and rules the house over three dogs who are bigger than 65 lbs.

So last night I got to bed early only to be woke up by Rusty, our Golden Retriever needing a potty break outside.  The problem was he had to go past Rosie.  Rosie stood her ground and Rusty just barked.  Rusty refused to go outside past Rosie even when I went into the garage as a buffer.  So I had to let him out the back door.  That was at 2:00 a.m.  Then Rusty and Roxie began to bark in order to get back inside.  Finally I held Rosie and they came into the garage.  Things settled down by 3:00 only to have the same event again at 4:00 a.m.   Now all the dogs were awake and ready to play.  By 4:30 I figured there was no more sleep or dreams for the night so it was a shower, breakfast and then off to work.

Wouldn't you know that as I left, every dog was back to sleep.  Even no barking when I left the house.

In my quiet time this morning at work, I was reminded of times when I worried about everything and pleasing everyone only to go days with little sleep.  To my amazement, it was when I really gave things to the Lord that He gave me peace and rest.  I am thankful for the Lord taking my worry's and appreciate the night rest to rewind and dream.

Finishing my quiet time, I just figure that I have to love our pets where they are and maybe give them something to sleep all night so they can dream.

Just a thought!
