This weekend I was listening to an old song (2005) and it brought on new meanings. The lyrics are about a young woman who literally had to give up and let Jesus take the wheel of her car. Often we what to hold tight to each situation and not allow others to know our thoughts or feelings. We have total control of everything and every situation.
It is in that control that we often lose the best part of a relationship - depending on others. Whether it is a personal relationship, church acquaintance, business relationship, spiritual relationship, or just our own thought process, we love to have control.
Over the past year I have had a new teacher who stresses for us to let go of our control in EVERY matter of our life and allow Jesus to be our leader and guide. Even though I have had all the training and know the answer to let God have control, I keep control and direction for every aspect of my life.
A friend tells me, "Being in Control yourself; how has that turned out?" I look back and see that the best times in my life were when I really did let Jesus take the wheel and control of my life.
