Prayer While Dreaming

I should know by now that drinking iced tea after 4:00 p.m. will have a strange effect on me during the night.  Being wide awake at 12:15 a.m. I thought "OK, I will take something to get some sleep."  Caffeine to keep me awake and something to get to sleep.  A bad habit so I try to avoid caffeine in the late afternoon.

Nevertheless, I got to sleep but at some point began dreaming.  The strange part of one dreams was that I was in my quiet spot with our golden retriever on my lap sleeping and I was praying.  I remember praying for people in our small group, my family, my grandchildren, my children, our pastor, our church, my wife, her family, our business, and the list goes on and on.  In my mind when I awoke, I thought I had probably prayed for hours but know that you can pack a lot into a short time when you are dreaming.  Yet there wasn't anyone that I did not pray for.

So all you dream interpreters, what does that mean?   Am I not praying enough during the waking hours?  Maybe a spill over from praying at our small group last night?   Did I need to talk more to the Lord and during my sleep was the best time to connect?

What I recalled most was that my requests were for others needs and not wants or something for me personally.  I usually mix praise, worship, others, and my wants in each prayer.  We all have our "gimmie" prayers.  I want, I want, I want!  This dream prayer was different.  Still open to interpretation.

Strange again is that I can recall the intimate details when I woke up at 2:30 a.m. from our dog barking.   Seriously, the only thing I did was say to myself, "And All God's People Said- Amen".  Then I went back to sleep.  God has to have a great sense of humor!

So how different are some of your dreams?  Are they more about you or others?  Falling, Running, Crying, Laughing, or just about events?   Anyway, just keep in mind that the best communication with our Lord comes from our daily prayer time.  The important point is that you take some time each day because we all have a lot to talk over with the Creator of the Universe who is passionately in love with YOU!

So have you communicated with Him today?
